LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!

I am so excited to start this year off! 

The classroom theme this year is based on Phillippians 2:15b which reads, "You will shine like stars among them in the world" That is what we are called to do.  Stand out in this world and be who God created us to be! 

We will be stars in our school and community by living out the word of God.  

We will also be stars in our work by doing our best in all things.

Subjects and Units:

Bible: A study on Colossians

Literacy: 

Reading--Short stories "The Writing Life" from A World of Literature

We will also begin a journey through different genres of literature.  The students will be receiving a passport that they will need to complete.

Writing--We will be reviewing how to write good detailed paragraphs.

Math--Patterns

Social Studies/Science--We are studying Canada in a unit called "From Far and Wide"  Looking at symbols that are truly Canadian and what it means for a Christian to live here.

Gym--Our gym class has been combined with the grades 3 and 4.  We will be learning new skills in soccer.

A new classroom pet!  Come in to meet our hermit crabs!
