Statement of Purpose:  The purpose of a Christian school is to provide quality Christian education. This involves directing and guiding the child to commit his/her heart to Christ and assisting each child in acquiring knowledge and wisdom. Working in harmony with the homes and churches from which our students come, we aim to educate our students so that
they may "wholeheartedly serve and glorify God, according to His word and that they may perform competent service for the Lord in church, state and society".

Community:  Our school community is made up of members, both parents and non-parents, who take responsibility for the education of the children at Scugog Christian School. This community is a supportive one, caring for the needs of all involved. The larger Christian community forms a support base for the school with their prayers, finances and service.

Curriculum:  Our school curriculum acknowledges God in all subject areas. The curriculum meets the criteria laid out by the Ontario Ministry of Education.

School Climate:  Staff and students are responsible to live together in a Christian manner. The atmosphere of the school is one of joy, love and security as a result of mutual respect and a common bond in Christ. As an interdenominational school, we do not promote doctrinal views or emphases of individual denominations. These are referred to the home or the church.

Prayer:  Daily prayer is essential to the existence of the school. The community prays regularly for the school. Teachers meet regularly for devotional times. Classroom prayer begins and ends each day and may be interspersed throughout the day. Individual situations are dealt with prayerfully.

Family:  Families have the primary responsibility for the education of their children. Home and school must work together so that children will be nurtured in the Christian faith. Close co-operation between home and school is integral to the success of the school.

Staff:  The staff is made up of qualified Christian professionals. All staff members seek to be Christian role models and work together in harmony. Teachers, support staff and the administrators are regarded as equal partners in the task of Christian education.

Students:  Each child is valued as one of Godʼs children and His special creation, made in His image. Each student is taught to develop all talents to the glory of God. All children are encouraged to commit their lives to Christ and to deepen their relationship with Him.
