Statement of Belief

The Bible:  The Bible is the Word of God and the final authority in all matters of faith and life.

God:  God is holy and sovereign, revealing Himself in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit who are co-equal ad co-eternal.

Christ:  Jesus Christ is both God and man. He was promised and given by God, and born of the virgin Mary. Christ, being without sin, suffered, died and rose again. He shall come again.

The Holy Spirit:  Salvation is extended to us through the working of the Holy Spirit who convicts us of our sin and our need for salvation in Jesus Christ. The Spirit renews us, instilling in our hearts saving faith, and enables us to be conformed to the image of God in Jesus Christ.

Creation:  God created the universe and all things in it. These things were created good and perfect.

Man:  Man was created in the image of God, to enjoy fellowship with his Creator and to be a steward of His creation. Man has been blessed with special gifts to be used in loving and obedient service to God.

Sin:  Sin is disobedience to Godʼs law. Adam and Eve were tempted by Satan and yielded. By sinning, man separated himself from God and his neighbour. As a result, man has become corrupt in heart. He rejects the true meaning of life and misuses the knowledge of God. Sin also brought about the corruption of Godʼs perfect creation.

Salvation:  Jesus Christ reconciled man to God through His voluntary suffering, death, resurrection and ascension. God, in His sovereign grace and mercy, extends this salvation to all who, with a believing heart, confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
